Optical Illusion Mural. Known as one of the premier gyms, we were honored to design a mural for Barry’s Bootcamp brand new location in New York City. At first glance, it looks like a standard logo mural. It is actually an anamorphic design that lays across multiple viewing planes. The third image in the thread below shows a different angle of the piece. Viewing from straight ahead reveals a distorted graphic, and this is how the design works to flatten its canvas. Viewing anamorphic art from a specific angle then creates the illusion of flat art across multiple surfaces. In the case of this gym, it will be a cool visual surprise in the stairs for those leaving after their work out!

As you can see, the design is flat in the above photo. We painted the logo across three walls all at varying angles.

The Barry’s Bootcamp logo in above picture is correct proportionally, for reference.

Here you can see the distortion that occurs in the logo when not viewing from the intended angle. Anamorphic murals are interesting and creative imaging method that we look forward to exploring further.
