Chalk Map Mural. Graffiti USA partnered with Marena Studios to create a faux chalk mural in the Aalto57 New York leasing office. The piece looks temporary, like a chalk blackboard. We however used oil bars to create the chalk effect for a permanent installation. First, we created a section of a downtown New York City map. Then we added details of the some cross streets. Lastly, we included some blown up imagery of popular buildings and locations. Check out photos of the installation below:

The slate base color is important to the chalk map mural look and compliments the office decor handsomely.

Check out the East River, Central Park and The Plaza in the picture above. We took the chalk map mural right over the electrical panel and climate control intake.

Blackboard New York City

Can see Whole Foods, Mr Chow and Bergdorf Goodman here. Barney’s New York and MoMA also make appearances. Street references are floating parallel in the East River. The avenues are labeled just above the 59th street bridge.
